Our Program

Our center builds an open-access research center focused on developing, evaluating, and refining best practices in early childhood education to close equity and access gaps for young children and their families. Kiddos Play Learning Center will explore topics about the early childhood workforce, child wellbeing, and 21st-century classroom practices.

Our Programs

What does it take to create a world where every child can grow to become a whole, centered, thinking, caring person?

At Kiddos Play Learning Center, we believe it is imperative that children are intellectually, emotionally, and socially prepared for the center.

Demonstrates exceptional professionalism and consideration for the educational development of enrolled children, their families, and center staff while managing the center's daily operations. Keeping children's best interests in mind is the number one priority. As well as a strong belief that every child should be given a personalized education plan regardless of their circumstances. Rather than focusing solely on diagnostic classification, treatments and resources should be customized to each child's needs. No matter whether a child has an intellectual disability, a neurodevelopmental disorder, or is neurotypical, they should receive the support they need to maximize their quality of life. Recognizing, expressing, understanding, and evaluating others', our own, and the group’s emotions are all part of the ability. The key to finding a healthy and appropriate balance at work is to address concerns, look for solutions, and compromise. Leadership that transforms requires energy, enthusiasm, and passion. Additionally, committed to helping each group member succeed by being involved.

How to Enroll

Families are encouraged to tour the center location prior to enrolling. In the next step, all families will fill out the Enrollment Application. Questions about enrollment paperwork, including PFCC forms, can be directed to the Assistant Directors and Center Directors. All new families will meet with the center director for orientation, where paperwork and policies will be reviewed. Families will set goals for their children at this time as well.

In addition, Child Medical Statements must be accompanied by an updated immunization record meeting all the required vaccinations as set by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS).  It is our policy that we enroll only children who meet this requirement.

Curriculum, Screening, and Assessment Tools

The Creative Curriculum inspiration was chosen as a framework to assist teachers in engaging in an ongoing cycle of observing, guiding, learning, and assessing the child’s progress. This process aids in the individualization of the curriculum to meet each child’s developmental stage. Volunteers are used to assisting in screening children who speak English as a second language. Screening and assessment tools are used to gather information to plan activities for large or small and/or individual time. Our curriculum specialist has long experience teaching Arabic to non-speaker children of all ages, as well as providing our unique Arabic language.

These tools include:

Teaching methods measures gross motor, fine motor, prewriting, cognitive, language, self-help, and social/emotional development.

The Class Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) rates the overall classroom environment, including organization, content, technology, classroom climate, and management, as well as language literacy and curriculum.

ASQ/ASQ:SE: A screening tool for developmental delays during the crucial first five years of a child's life.

A Screening Record contains Notes about specific observations about individual children.
